How do I expand or collapse all of my notes at once?
To expand or collapse all of your notes you need to use the escape key to toggle editing so you've got a row selected. Next, use cmd-a to select all of the visible rows. Finally, use cmd-' to toggle the visibility of your notes.

Why do I have trouble sending or receiving OmniOutliner documents via email?
OmniOutliner documents are stored in a type of folder called a file wrapper. File wrappers appear to be normal files in the Finder. Apple Mail will treat file wrappers like normal files and transparently zip them when you attach them to an email. Receivers of your email who also use Apple Mail will never know that they received a zipped folder -- they'll just see your OmniOutliner document. Users of other Mail programs like Entourage will need to manually compress their OmniOutliner documents before sending them.

Why do my audio recordings sound like they're playing back at half-speed?
This is due to a settings mismatch in the audio recording preferences. To correct this open the "Sound Capture" preferences and then select "Custom" from the Compression drop-down menu. Now select "Options" on the panel that appears. Make sure that your output sample rate matches your input sample rate.

Can I style the column titles in my document?
You can apply styles to the column titles in your document by selecting the "Column Titles" style in the drawer. It's not currently possible to apply styles individually to column titles.

Why am I getting slow response to my typing in the latest version of OO?
This may be due to having FruitMenu installed. Unsanity has released FruitMenu 3.6.2 which addresses this problem.

Can OmniOutliner import MORE files?
Yes! Most styles and images will be preserved. If you're using an Intel Mac then you'll need to use the latest version to import your files.

How can I print an outline so that it only takes up one page horizontally?
If your outline is wider than one piece of paper, the rightmost columns will be printed on a separate sheet, which you might not prefer. The easiest way to avoid this is to print a scaled version of the outline.
- First select Page Setup... from the File menu; the Page Setup sheet appears.
- Choose OmniOutliner from the Settings pop-up menu.
- Select the checkbox labeled Scale document to fit page width. This will shrink the outline just enough to fit it onto one horizontal page.

Why does the Finder show my OmniOutliner file instead of my attachments when I ask them to be revealed in the Finder?
When you attach a file to an OmniOutliner document instead of linking it, the file is embedded inside of what's called a file wrapper. A file wrapper looks like a normal file in the Finder but it's actually a special kind of directory. When the Finder is asked to show something that's located inside of a file wrapper it will instead show the wrapper itself. If you hold control when dragging an item into your outline, the item will be linked to rather than embedded in the document.

How can I access attachments via Applescript?
Currently Cocoa Scripting doesn't provide access to attachment innards. We hope that this will change in Mac OS X 10.4 so for right now we're not extending what Apple provides.
