OmniPlan for iOS 3.12

October 8, 2019

Requires iOS 13

OmniPlan 3.12 for iOS introduces support for new features in iOS 13 and iPadOS and adopts Apple’s standard iOS file browser.

Version 3.12

  • Document Browser — OmniPlan now uses Apple’s built-in iOS file browser for document management. With Apple’s file browser, you can store and sync your projects using iCloud Drive or a third-party solution, or you can continue to sync your projects via OmniPresence.
  • OmniPresence — Downloaded files synced via OmniPresence are now stored locally in a subfolder of the OmniPlan folder on your device. By default, OmniPresence does not download larger synced files automatically; tap the OmniPresence icon in the file browser toolbar to open the download manager and choose files to download.
  • Thumbnail Previews — Preview images are generated and saved as part of the file when a project is edited. Existing projects will not display a preview in the file browser until they are edited.
  • Context Menus — Quickly perform common actions in a project via context menus, accessed via 3D Touch or the touch and hold gesture.
  • Dark Mode — When your iOS device’s Appearance is set to Dark, OmniPlan’s interface will now automatically switch to Dark Mode. (Specifying the Dark or Light theme on a per-project basis is no longer supported.)
  • Multitasking — Work with two OmniPlan projects simultaneously in Split View, or open several projects in multiple spaces on iPadOS.
  • Omni Automation [PRO] — We’ve made a number of improvements to Omni Automation, including support for input dialogs and file output. For more details, see the Omni Automation Release Notes (which can be found in the API Reference documentation).

  • Omni Automation [PRO] — OmniPlan now offers cross-platform and cross-application automation via JavaScript. See examples and learn more at omni-automation.com.
  • Site Licensing — OmniPlan now supports Site Licensing for businesses, schools, and other organizations. If you are interested in learning more, or purchasing a site license for OmniPlan, please contact sales@omnigroup.com.
  • Leveling — Leveling a project now schedules incomplete tasks for the beginning of the next project work day (previous versions of OmniPlan 3 scheduled tasks for the beginning of the current work day when leveling).
  • Resource Load Syncing [PRO] — Fixed a bug that could cause resources to appear incorrectly overloaded when a project is configured to sync resource loads with a server repository.
  • Schedule Exceptions — Daylight Savings Time no longer causes unexpected exceptional days to appear in workweek schedules that include Sundays.
  • Scheduling — Improved scheduling of tasks in projects that include split and hammock tasks.
  • Stability — Addressed a crash that could occur when launching OmniPlan on a device running a beta OS.

  • Drag & Drop — Fixed a bug that could cause tasks to be created with blank task names when adding tasks to an OmniPlan project via drag & drop from another application.

OmniPlan for iOS 3.10

September 22, 2018

Requires iOS 11

OmniPlan 3.10 for iOS introduces support for Siri Shortcuts on iOS 12.

Version 3.10

  • Backwards Compatibility — OmniPlan 3.10 for iOS and the corresponding Mac release, OmniPlan 3.10 for Mac, contain changes to how OmniPlan identifies projects as distinct from one another. If you’re syncing OmniPlan projects between multiple devices via a publishing & subscription collaboration action, you should update all installations of OmniPlan to the most recent version.
  • Siri Shortcuts — Added support for Siri Shortcuts. As you create new documents or open existing documents, Siri will keep track of your actions and start suggesting these activities to you based on observed patterns. These suggestions can appear in Spotlight, on the lock screen, and in Siri Settings.
  • Publish & Subscribe [PRO] — OmniPlan now refers to getting changes to a synced project from a server as “refreshing” the project (in previous versions of OmniPlan this was referred to as “updating,” which many users found confusing).

OmniPlan for iOS 3.9

April 17, 2018

Requires iOS 11

OmniPlan 3.9 for iOS introduces two new ways to access your OmniPlan projects from the document browser, and it fixes several bugs.

  • Recent Documents — View recently edited documents in one place, regardless of whether they’re saved locally or synced via services such as OmniPresence or iCloud
  • Other Documents — Quickly access OmniPlan projects saved in other file storage locations via the new Open option in the Locations list.
  • App Lock — App Lock has been updated to better support FaceID.
  • Free Viewer Mode — Attempting to create a new project while using OmniPlan in Free Viewer mode now opens the In-App Purchase window.
  • Locations — The Local Documents location has been renamed On My iPhone (or On My iPad).
  • Trial Mode — OmniPlan now presents a confirmation when switching between Standard and Pro trial modes.
  • Inspector — Restored the option to adjust the % assigned in the Task Resource Assignment Inspector.
  • Microsoft Project Import — Microsoft Project files that previously triggered import errors now import successfully.
  • Undo — The undo popover no longer shifts to the left edge of the toolbar after it’s been opened twice.
  • Undo — Open or closing the inspector no longer causes the undo button to hop around.
  • Stability — Fixed a crash that could occur when closing a project after making changes in the inspector.
