  • What does it cost?

    OmniOutliner for iPad is $19.99

  • Can I use OmniOutliner for iPad with existing documents I've made with OmniOutliner for Mac?

    Yes! OmniOutliner for iPad can open and edit documents created by OmniOutliner for Mac. The same file format is used on both platforms. There will be some compatibility issues as iOS does not support all the same fonts and options as the Mac does. Not all features from OmniOutliner for the Mac are supported on the iPad either but just viewing the file on the iPad will not lose any of that information.

  • Why don't styles get automatically applied correctly when moving files between iPad and Mac?

    OmniOutliner for iPad uses a new simpler style system versus OmniOutiner 3 for Mac. Your document should look the same when viewed on both platforms but styles will not always get correctly applied to new row when working on a file made on the other platform. We intend for OmniOutliner 4 for Mac to use the same style system as the iPad at which point they will be fully compatible between the two.

  • Is there a discount if I buy OmniOutliner for Mac and OmniOutliner for iPad?

    OmniOutliner for Mac and OmniOutliner for iPad are separate products, with lots of independent work going into each one. We're generally quite happy to offer bundle pricing for products purchased through our own online store, but there's no way to do that when selling through the App Store. We've tried to make sure that each product is priced reasonably as its own independent product, and we hope you'll agree that both products become even more valuable when you use them together.

  • If I have more then one iPad, how many copies of OmniOutliner for iPad do I need?

    Just one; similar to music or iPod game purchases, one license covers any device you personally use and control, up to a limit of five devices. Note that this is determined by the App Store Terms and Conditions.

  • Do I have to pay for future updates?

    The App Store policy and the longstanding Omni Group policy agree: minor update should be free. Of course, if there is a major overhaul of the application with lots of shiny new features, we may release it as a new product, and that would cost money. But bug fixes, minor features, and miscellaneous polishing come at no cost.

  • How do I update OmniOutliner for iPad?

    You can update OmniOutliner for iPad from within the App Store on your iPad or by logging into your account in the iTunes Store on your desktop and syncing to iTunes once it has downloaded the update.

  • Do you support Dropbox?

    At this time we are not planning to support Dropbox, however do intend to add iCloud support.

  • Will more features be coming to OmniOutliner for iPad?

    Absolutely! We'll be adding more features as time goes on. Please feel free to send feedback on what you'd like to see in a future release!

Latest release: March 16 2012

OmniOutliner 1.2.1 for iPad fixes a handful of bugs and adds support for Retina displays.

Features

  • Support for Retina displays has been added along with high-resolution versions of the image resources.

Bug Fixes

  • Emailing with the Simple HTML option should once again embed the HTML into the email body when possible, for everyone.
  • Pasting or deleting rows could cause a crash under certain circumstances. This has been resolved.
  • The Clear custom style button should always function properly now.
  • Background colors applied through a named style should once again correctly be removed when the named style is unapplied.
  • Exiting to the document picker while the text style inspector is open during text editing will no longer cause a crash.
  • The text loupe will properly appear above the inspectors in input fields.
