- WebKit
-
- This release is primarily an update to the version of WebKit in use by OmniWeb. OmniWeb is now based on the same WebKit in use by Safari 3.1. This includes the latest security patches and features included with Safari 3.1.x such as downloadable fonts, CSS Animation, HTML 5 media tags and client side database storage.
- Bugs
-
- When using Leopard's Spaces, OmniWeb will no longer switch spaces when entering a URL or creating a new workspace.
- Added support for non-POSIX file URLs, improving compatibility with Dreamweaver and other Carbon and Classic apps.
- Interface
-
- Polished up the toolbar icons.
- Google Chrome is now included in the list of user agents.
OmniWeb runs in demonstration mode when unlicensed. The demo period is 30 launch days. That is, you can launch OmniWeb on 30 different days before the demo period expires. Unlike most software demos that time out exactly 30 days after you install them, we want you to actually get a chance to fall in love with OmniWeb.
The only restriction on the application during the demo period is that you can not change your Start Page (home page) preference away from the default.
Purchasing a license key from our online store or a boxed version of OmniWeb 5 from your local retailer will fully enable your copy of OmniWeb.
The international version of OmniWeb is localized into several languages, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Japanese and Swedish. If you'd like to volunteer a localization for your own language we'd love to hear from you!
- Download
- Mount
- Install
- Eject
In the "Download Now" section of the sidebar on the right, click the version you want to download.
Wait until the download is complete. If your web browser and system are properly configured, Disk Copy or Finder will open and mount the downloaded disk image. If this does not happen, locate in Finder the .dmg file that you downloaded and double-click it to open the file. (Double-check to be sure that you've quit all running copies of OmniWeb before you continue any further...)
When the disk image mounts, a new Finder window will open that contains the icon for your new OmniWeb application. Simply drag this icon to your Applications folder (or wherever you would like to keep it) to install. This copies the application from the virtual disk image onto your hard disk so the application is there for you to use whenever you like.
Once OmniWeb is installed you can safely 'eject' the virtual disk that it came on and also dispose of the .dmg file that you downloaded if you choose. Double-click the OmniWeb icon in the location you installed it in order to begin using the application. You may wish to drag the icon to the Dock for easy access.

We love to hear from our users about what they would like to see in OmniWeb. Bug reports, feature requests, and creepy love letters - we like it all! Send us your feedback today!
