I am asked to change the display of time from GMT to PDT, for which I am supposed to change in many places in many file, so thought of instead changing it in all the places/files if we could set the time zone of the web objects server to PDT, then the creation of the object of NSTimestamp would return me PDT time. I am not sure whether it is possible or not. If it is possible please let me know how to set the time zone on start up of the web objects server. Thanks in Advance, - Shiv. The thing that always helps me is to put it into Model-View- Controller terminology. Even complex problems can be simplified in this way. For example, say two users are looking at the same info about an on- line meeting. One person is in Tokyo and the other is in Texas. How do we make sure that when they express an opinion about the meeting time, that they are not talking past each other. A meeting has to occur at one time. That is a model concept. If the users express a time preference, does the "time as model" of one agree with the "time as model" of the other? What if one person wants to see the time in UTC and the other wants Tokyo time? That is a controller issue. The UTC user wants the controller to tell him the time as if he was in England. What if one wants the time zone expressed as "- 0500" and the other as "Tokyo/Japan"? That is completely a view issue. I can only work this stuff out when I separate the issues and deal with each separately. Good luck and don't trip over the grave stones of those who have gone before you.... - ray > > On 10/29/07 3:14 PM, "Chuck Hill" wrote: > >> NSTimeZone >> >> setDefaultTimeZone >> >> public static void setDefaultTimeZone(NSTimeZone aTZ) >> Changes the time zone provided by getDefault or defaultTimeZone for >> the application.
