It is my understanding that even if they want to, they can't.....
The Acrobat people more or less hack into Safari to embed their plug- 
in and it is not accessible to any other browser. It's not a standard  
internet plug-in.

You mean the Acrobat plug-in was displaying PDFs in OW???? Are you  
sure??
