Why is Omniweb Just the Pokey Puppy of Browsers

I share this experience. Although I bought and love OmniWeb, I am  
using primarily Safari now just because of speed. The big advantages  
of OmniWeb just fade away when everything takes hours to respond. I  
am not happy with the overall app performance on Mac OS X anyway.

I don't really know why OW is so far behind in terms of speed. Is  
there an explanation for this?
