The real problem lies in the way the system handles doubling up on ⌘+ 
so that the services menu does not change to reflect that the active 
app has already taken ⌘= . The result is unexpected and there's no 
prompt for learning.
Safari works the same way, so I suppose Apple doesn't mind this 
interface glitch and we should all just get used to it.

These days I just stay in OW and use a bookmarklet or a shortcut (more 
typing but avoids the mouse).
