Workspaces

Hi

I'm not sure if I'm missing a trick here but making new workspaces seems
a little clumsy.

If I have a window with several tabs open and I want to make that a new
workspace, how do I do it?
If I choose  'new workspace' from the menu it closes my windows and gives
me a blank workspace. Is there a simple way?
