why are workspaces compressed

According to the release notes,

> We now compress workspaces using gzip compression which greatly reduces I/O at
launch time. Note: Older versions of OmniWeb 5.0 will not be able to read
these compressed files.

Workspaces have been gzipped since 5.0RC1 for above reason.
