That's what the Reply All button is for. Actually, by having the
mailing list set the Reply To header, it makes it quite difficult to
take a thread offline/off-list.
Get into the habit of using Reply All. That's what it's there for. The
Reply To header just makes it harder for those wishing to reply
personally to someone's message.
In fact, for the most part, one can use the Reply All button as the
standard, and the Reply button as the Exception. Reply All to a private
message still works.
Try swapping your Reply All and Reply buttons in your toolbar; see if
that helps.
