4.5 features

I've found many things to like about version 5, but I am still finding
that I miss a couple of UI things from the previous version that have
been eliminated (I did quickly scan the list archives to see if I
missed mention of either of these):

1. Location bar as pop-up menu.

I routinely surf with only the Location bar visible. I had liked the
feature where I could use the triangle at the end of the location bar
as a pop-up history. I'm aware I could go a few pixels further up and
click the History menu, and I will have to do that if given no other
choice, but putting that feature back in -- even if conditional on the
navigation bar being hidden -- would be nice.

2. Status Bar only when necessary.

I've read some of the debate here previously regarding whether OmniWeb
should have a true status bar or not. Being one of those who liked the
old method (status info only appears when needed, maximizing browsing
space; location bar changes when you hover over a link), I wonder if
there is/could be a preference to go back to the "old OmniWeb way" as
opposed to the new "what everyone else does" way. Admittedly, the icons
you have added to the Status Bar seem useful, but I always thought it
was silly to have status information both at the top and the bottom of
the screen. (I'm one of those people who drags the QuarkXPress
Measurements palette up to the top of the screen so that I'm always
looking/moving up for menus/info alteration rather than hopping back
and forth.)

Maybe the status icons could be added to the Location bar when only the
Location bar is showing, making for a kind of compact all-in-one-line
status/location bar. (I have chosen to turn off the search field, so
with the help of text shortcuts, I'm pretty much using a command-line
and keyboard-shortcut interface to OmniWeb.)

And by the way, thanks for supporting Command-[ and ] for back and
forward -- now that Apple Help uses it (and I always liked how it felt
under my hand in other browsers), it makes sense that version 5 would
support it. I know it is a small touch, but I really appreciate it! The
small touches are some of the main reasons why OmniWeb is my default
browser.
