Clicking a link that leads to the current page

Something I often use for refreshing a forum overview page: Clicking on 
the forum logo, so that the page is reloaded and I see what's changed. 
For example: on http://icity.net.tc I can click on the iCity logo to 
get a visual clue (green icons instead of blueish grey ones) when a 
forum has a new post. This takes less time than an actual reload via 
cmd-r or the reload button (which I don't see, because I have 
deactivated the button bar, of course).
