One thing to remember... Apple is a Hardware Company... Its not a software
company... It has little interest in many of the same schemes for pulling
money out of our pockets that microsoft does... MS's model depends on moving
new software and renewal licenses constantly... Apple is much more dependent
on moving computers... It wants and needs software that fits its consumer's
needs and makes Macs more attractive.
So, in my view any ".mac" service will be focused on making macs attractive
and the best app platform around... So, I will welcome a ".mac" solution and
judge it on its merits.
