a few feature requests

Hi all,

Just recently subscribed to this mailing list, and I first
wanted to mention that I'm very happy with OmniWeb, and it's become my
primary browser. The only feature that I really miss from iCab is the
ability to manually configure a list of image filters (a bit like the
Cookie filters), but able to allow/deny based on user-specified matches
in the host or path components of a URI.

Actually, I'd like to see this as well in the Cookies preference.
Instead of a simple list of hostnames and IP addresses, maybe implement
allow/deny rulesets (e.g. default "deny from all", then start adding
several "allow from ..." rulesets) which would certainly shorten the
currently long (and growing) list.

Another UI that is a little strange is the ability to send mouse
events to OmniWeb browser windows that are the background. For example
(and apologies for mangling proper UI terminology), I have a browser
window that is not the frontmost window. I bring it to the front by
clicking on the exposed region of the browser window. However, the
region I clicked on also happens to be a link on the Favorites bar.
This causes the browser window to also jump to that Favorites link.
This is a bit strange, because I now have to be aware of which parts of
the browser window are buttons or other controls.
For a browser window in the background, it would be nice if the
individual widgets would "light up" as the pointer passes over them,
much like it does over the traffic light x-+ buttons. At least this
will provide a visual cue that will let me know that clicking on that
area will do something besides bring that window into the foreground.

To add to improving the UI, it would be really nice to change
the pointer to the "hand" whenever it passes over an <INPUT TYPE=IMAGE>
or <INPUT TYPE=SUBMIT> sections, just like it normally does when the
pointer passes over a hyperlink.

Also, I also do lots of CGI programming. Although the HTML
content I generate changes regularly, the images are quite static. So
once the images are loaded, OmniWeb should just get them from the cache.
It would be very nice to reload only the HTML contents. Would it be
possible to add something like a Shift-Reload to do this?

Another feature would be for images on an HTML document that
failed to load. It would be nice to be able to control-click a broken
image and select "Reload this image" from the popup menu.

Anyways, that's a list of features that I would love to see
OmniWeb implement. My apologies if some of these features have already
been discussed in past messages.
