Applets?

Hi, I am brand new to OSX and OmniWeb. I am writing Java applets and
applications (mostly running on NT and MacOS). I was told that OmniWeb runs
Applets under OSX DP4. 

But, I can't get it to work. I get the coffee machine with the line through
it. I get two different kinds of messages in the console (omniweb's),
depending on which page I am going to - the example sun applet that I have
copied to my apache setup, or my custom applet (both, btw, run fine under NT
& MacOS using either Netscape or IE):

I either get:
Guessing content type is application/java-vm (sun's)
or
Guessing content type is application/octet-stream (mine)

Of course, it doesn't run either, but just giving all the info!

I have also noticed that all the requests OW makes are HTTP 1.0! Why is
this?
