FWIW, I've noticed several times recently that OmniWeb goes into this 
death spiral every now and then when I'm not really actively doing 
anything.  I do, however, have the habit of leaving some browser 
windows minimized that may have some automatic updating.  I think 
what's happening for me is that at some point, something bad happens 
and then the next time I try to bring OmniWeb to the front, the 
cursor just spins away.

One problem may be that one of my usual news sites has some 
JavaScript in it that generates an error dialog with the current 
implementation in OmniWeb - if I've got this page in a minimized 
browser window, I've never tried to figure out what it does.
