DP3 won't run!

I'm a long time Mac programmer, but very new to Unix.

I tried installing OmniWeb 4.01b1 several ways without any luck.

First I decompressed it using StuffIt Deluxe on a regular OS 9 system and then copy it to my OS X
DP3 HFS Drive and then when I try running it in DP3, the program launches, and appears in the
application doc for a second or two and then dissappears.

I poked around in the unix console and tried using gzip and gnutar on the file with no luck

Can someone please give a unix newbie some advice as to what is going on.

I'm working off of a cable modem and am able to ping out to my remote servers on the net, so I do
have internet connectivity under DP3
