OW setup

can someone point me to a page that tells me in plain english how to
setup my inet connections in OPENstep4.2? i'm trying to learn this
language(sp?) as i began on a mac about 18mos. ago...if that tells ya
the level of my computer skills. i did get my mac hooked up; but i just
can't figure out where i put what numbers where. does that make sense?
oh i'm trying to do this on a turbo-slab if that matters; i'm pretty
sure i have the right modem cable; cos i bought both. help!!  thanX in
