Colorizing and Formatting in View

I have personal preferences set for both Colorization and Formatting to "On  
Request", and yet on occasion when viewing the HTML of a screen, both  
colorization and formatting are done at initial open of the view window. Both  
check boxes are marked on that screen. If the source HTML is rather large,  
colorization and formatting take a LOT of time.

What is causing Omniweb to ignore the preferences?

OW3.0-rc2 on black color turbo slab.
