Well, I should have known anyway...and in fact just was wondering about that when looking at the administrator preferences and seeing "duplicate name" in the list of the plugins there.

Here's a related question with respect to the frameworks. I deleted all the old ones, though I was aware of the web site's admonition not to delete them if other apps are using them. I did anyway because OmniPDF seems not to need them, and none of the
other Omni apps run under CR1 anyway, correct?
