Display problems with Beta7 and Beta8

Ah, the gray window of death.

It's a known problem, and we're working on it. (It's the main reason we
didn't release beta 8 earlier; we were hoping to fix this first.)

We don't think that it occurs on Rhapsody, so if anyone sees it there,
please let us know. Also, if you can ever figure out a way to
consistently reproduce the bug, please let us know.
