When I announced OmniWeb for Windows on our OmniWeb-l mailing list
day before yesterday, I included some brief installation
instructions.

I take it it was looking for APPKIT.DLL, and you found
OmniAppKit.dll? APPKIT.DLL is part of Apple's Yellow Box
distribution, OmniAppKit.dll extends it.

There are two options to running OmniWeb for Windows (we have two
Windows releases): you can run it using Apple's Yellow Box for
Windows (still in developer release, not available to the public), or
you can run it using OPENSTEP Enterprise (a commercial product which
you have to purchase from Apple).

In the long term, we intend to package the Yellow Box run-times
(which Apple has committed to making freely available) with OmniWeb,
but since they're still in developer release we don't have that
option yet.

We haven't mentioned OmniWeb for Windows on our own web site yet
precisely because I haven't yet written up the system requirements
and installation instructions.

I didn't realize that the news would make it to Mac OS Rumors so
quickly (I haven't even announced OmniWeb for Windows to our general
OmniNews mailing list yet because I was in the process collecting
feedback on the Windows installation process from people already
familiar with OmniWeb on other platforms); and I'm guessing that Wil
(who sent the note to Mac OS Rumors) didn't realize that I hadn't
written up installation instructions as I usually do. Sorry, it's
been a busy week.
