Thanks for pointing out the HTML 3.2 information on ALINK highlighting.  Our  
support for ALINK predates the standard, and I guess we never reviewed our  
support for it when it finally made it into the standard.

We'll still need to highlight anchors with the dashed box so that those  
using keyboard navigation to select links have a useful indication of which  
link is currently selected.
