Need more instr. in setting up PPP

Have any of you written a more detailed description of what it takes to get  
PPP working than the PPP Release Notes furnished with OPENSTEP 4.2?

I hope that one of you has been called by this mission on behalf of mankind.   
Omniweb is too good to allow its use to be limited to those who can decipher  
the System Admin notes. We have to get ready for the big time now. Rhapsody is  
going to send millions of users our way. We've got to make it easy for them to  
use Omniweb.

In the notes from NeXT Computer on PPP installation, I'm OK down to the  
section called "Initial Testing", which assumes I know a lot about kermit that  
I don't know. Then it refers me to the man pages for pppd, which has a hundred  
options. It doesn't actually say I should run pppd, but I assume I should,  
because the next section in the notes is "Determining if the link is actually  
up".  Obviously, it's not up; that's where I'm lost.

In lieu of a set of instructions, could someone provide me with the files they  
use to start pppd?
