Both of the problems you describe are bugs in OmniWeb 2.1.5.  You might  
try running the latest beta to see if it fixes either of them, since I  
seem to recall working on both of those at some point.  (However, I don't  
see any mention of either of them in the release notes, so it may still  
be broken.)

Mind you, I really don't think this is an ideal application of the web.   
Obviously it _can_ be shoehorned onto the web (assuming the browser bugs  
get fixed), but it seems like the end result is greatly inferior to  
alternatives (such as irc) implemented natively or using java.

Not that that excuses the bugs in OmniWeb, of course.  I just happen to  
think that the web is not the best interface for all (or even most)  
applications.
