Configuration Query: OmniWeb unable to connect to remote host

I have installed OmniWeb on a networked NeXTstation and identified the
local news host in the misc preferences, but keep getting a `unable to
connect to remote host' message.  Does the news host need to be
mounted on the local machine, or is there some other configuration
parameter that must be tweaked to access remote hosts?
