Not getting images or sounds

Jeff, I had the same problem.  In my typically FM ("fucking magic")  
engineering approach, I assumed it went like this:
(1) you need an image viewer that converts the image type to TIFF
(2) I had two image viewers in my path that treat, for example, GIF, but do  
no conversion; I also had OmniImage, but this didn't seem to have any effect
(3) I turned off the execute bit on the other viewers so that OmniImage, a  
viewer that converts, would be the only viewer in my path.
(4) I logged out and in again

Everything works now.

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure the reason the OmniWeb image is working for  
you is that it's already a tiff.
