Ken,

At home, I'm at the end of a SLIP link.  Playing sound files inline under these  
conditions doesn't work.  You get a tiny blast of sound, followed by long  
silence, followed by a little sound, and so forth.  You will need to provide  
some kind of Preference option to allow me to change this behavior (unless you  
can figure out how to do it automatically by seeing how fast the bits come in).
