Font problem - garbled text

I've heard of a similar problem, mostly from folks using  
OmniDiskSweeper. In that case, the menu items in the app  
intermittently come up in the font of last resort instead of the  
expected font. We've never managed to reproduce the problem on our  
machines here, though.

Last time I heard from a customer with the problem, they ran font  
book, zapped some duplicates (though I can't recall which off the top  
of my head) and the problem got better. Odd thing was, I had the same  
duplicate fonts on my machine, and I've never seen this problem.

It's a real puzzler of a bug - I'd really like to squash it, so I'll  
be keenly listening for any info you guys manage to come up with.
