I'm a relative noob when it comes to such things, but I know that you  
can write your own exporter using, I believe, OS X's built in XSLT.  
That's the way, I think, that the S5 export was done. I'm with you on  
better export options, especially with styling, but I'm thinking we  
might be on our own. If you do a "Show package contents" on an OO  
file, you'll see that all the text is packed into a pretty tidy XML  
document.
