"*** -[NSCFArray addObject:]: attempt to insert nil

I just downloaded, installed and purchased Omnioutliner Pro, but 
there is something seriously wrong. Bascilly, I'm plagued by the 
following alert dialog box:

"*** -[NSCFArray addObject:]: attempt to insert nil"

A typical scenario is where I'm trying to type a line of text. The 
dialog box appears  (and I have to click OK) between every word I 
type , i.e. it pops up when I hit the space bar or the return key !!!

Any suggestions ?-- besides asking for my money back?
