slowdown and freezing

Hi,
I have been working in an OOP outline which has 4 columns and 4 or 5 
named styles. The amount of content in the outline is not large but 
there is, I guess, a lot of formattng--different fonts, highlighting, 
different justifications in different cells, etc. For some of this (not 
the justification) I created special named styles.

When I search the outline by typing a name into the search box, the 
search either goes veeeerrrry slowly, or the application freezes 
altogether and I have to force quit. I have not had the freezing 
problem in other outlines, but I have experienced typing slowdown in 
other outlines with several different fonts and styles.

I am working on transcribing source material for my dissertation and 1) 
the search function is vital and 2) I can't bear to think about losing 
the material. Has anyone else experienced this behavior? Is there 
anything I can do to improve performance?

Otherwise, I love the application.
I am using OOP 3.6 on Panther.
