Omni deciding to make changes in response to user feedback doesn't
necessarily mean that we would change the _default_ behavior.
At the same time, more preferences mean more complexity. The ideal
(which of course is frequently unattainable) would be to come up with
a solution that _everyone_ preferred. Short of that, then we have to
gauge demand for and benefit of a preference. Any time there are two
different behaviors, that introduces the possibility for confusion
between users, between customers and our support staff, even between
developers. It means we have to write and maintain and localize
additional documentation and user interface. It means the user has to
wade through more documentation. It means that the user has to wade
through more preferences, and contributes to an overall impression of
complexity.
Which is not to say we _won't_ add a preference, but we do want to
weigh the benefits vs the tradeoffs/costs.

Yeah, sorry about that. (I was kind of thinking that since you
already posted movies showing the content of the document, it
probably wasn't a sensitive document.) I encourage you to send a bug
report to omnioutliner at omnigroup.com. :-) Customer requests for a
feature will at a minimum cause us to evaluate its necessity more
carefully.
