My understanding is that a free Software Development Kit with 
instructions for creating import and export plug-ins is in the works.  
Perhaps this will come with some AppleScripting improvements in OO 3.1? 
  If such an SDK already exists in some form, it would be great to have 
a beta version of the documentation.
