Automatic Reminder in Outliner

Hi folks,

Using OmniOutliner I have the following requirement and need your help:

I am managing my tasks in several projects with outliner, I have a 
“date” column where I enter the date when the task has to be done.
Because there is no reminder in the tool, that reminds me of every row, 
where the value in the date field is in the task (this would really 
help), I think about an apple script that goes through every row and 
sets the background color of every row to yellow (or another color), 
when the date is in the past or today.

I tried to record this action using the script editor, but it seams 
that outliner does not support the live recording with script editor.

Any idea or help or a list of apple script commands for outliner or an 
idea how you handle this requirement?
