My top requests for OmniOutliner Pro > 3.0

While the Omnigroup twiddles the iPod Shuffle knobs at Macworld, let's
see if I can make even more work for them upon their return.

Here's my wishlist for OO Pro future editions. I want to use
OmniOutliner principally for project management, generally in the GTD
model... to which I was exposed by this list, so thanks for that
everyone...

1) Cloning. This would enhance GTD usability by allowing me to store an
event under both a project and under an "Action Items" topic.

2) Allow columns to be defined on a per-section basis, rather than
document-wide. This would allow me to have a single document that
tracked all aspects of a design project, where the top level items were:

Contacts
Billable Time
Design Review
Preproduction
Final Art
Release
Post Release

per-section columns would be things like a duration column under
billable time, date columns for all of the project milestone topics, et
cetera. At the same time, it would be great to be able to keep some
columns global, although if that's too complex I wouldn't be sorry to
have to choose between all-global or all-local on a per document basis.

Coupled with request one, I would be able to add a top level "action
items" to collect things that need to get done next, while also keeping
them correctly filed as children deep within "design review."

3) Rule based styles. For instance, I'd like to be able to set up a
rule that all rows that have a date value of today should have the
style "bold and red" applied to them. This would help wean me off iCal
alarms, as I am trying to keep project management all in one program...

None of these requests are novel, but I thought it would be good to
couch them in terms of how they would turn OO3 into a better GTD tool.

Does anyone have any adds?

John McKenzie
