Background image

Are you trying to attach a background image to the entire document? If 
so, do the following:

Open your document:
In the Utility Drawer, select the "Whole document" style
With that style still highlighted in the drawer, open up the 
"Appearance" inspector.
Next to the "Background" color well, click the "Image" button.
In the file picker dialog, select the image file you'd like to attach.
Click the "Open" button.
The image you were attaching should now tile across the background of 
your document.

If you're trying to attach a background to something else, the only 
step that changes is the first one. Select the item you want to attach 
the background image to, then click the button in the appearance 
inspector. If you need more specific help, I'm happy to assist 
off-list...
