A-ha!!! (was Re: New bugs in 2.2.2?)

Well, this was interesting, because I almost always have Mail running. 
However, restarting and opening OO as the only app didn't change 
anything. I still get the line shifting and option-u error. Turning off 
"Check spelling as you type" also didn't fix it. In Mail, I have "Check 
spelling as you type" on, and Mail doesn't get an error with  option-u 
(ü).
Very mysterious.
