Control + Return to Move Text to New Item?

Ah, you're right about the click and hold to get the arrow. At that point,
one can drag and drop text within the same item.
I was trying to drag and drop text between items. Once the cursor exists the
first item, the snippet becomes incarnates as a new item with all the
expected item behaviors. Other items don't "open up" and make themselves
available as targets to drop the text into. That probably makes sense.
I suppose it could be handy if enabled with a modifier key so you could have
whichever behavior you wanted, but there's obviously bigger fish to fry
feature-wise.
