Applescript: get path

Dear Bruce,

Thanks for your reply. The Convert to Word Doc script uses the
following:

property SaveLocation : (choose folder with prompt "Where would you
like your converted Word documents to be saved?")

which isn't useful for me as I want the results of the script to be
automatically saved in the same folder as the frontmost OO document. I
could navigate to the folder every time, but that rather defeats the
point of writing a script.

By the way, was I the only one to find that the OO2Word script didn't
work as advertised in the Word Export Tutorial, i.e. saving a .doc file
on the desktop? The only file that appeared anywhere on my machine was
an .xml file in the trash. On the point of giving up, I opened the
Convert to Word Doc script in the Script Editor and re-compiled it, at
which point the above line sprang into action. Since then I get an
.html file (though not a .doc file) in the specified folder that Word
reads very happily.

Best wishes,

Jonathan Lewis
