Personally, it doesn't matter to me if a program is a shareware program
or a "commercial" program (although commerial program usually have the
serious drawback of not allowing me to try the program before I buy it).
What is important to me is the following:
+ If it's a utility program (I buy it and intend to use it for a
year or so) then it doesn't matter much as long as the program
does what it's supposed to do and that it has a good quality.
+ If it's a program that I intend to use for a long time, like
for example BBEdit, then I prefer to have a company behind the
product (accidents does happen and I don't want support to
disappear).
That's it, as long as the program is OK and the price is right it
doesn't matter much to me how the program is sold.
