Well, if this is OK with you I shouldn't argue about it ... but it's not
syncing, it only a matter of reading/saving the same document.

This means that if you sync, then change the outline on the Palm, open
the same outline on you Mac, make same changes, save it and then sync
you will loose the changes you've made on the Palm.

Syncing normally means that the changes would be merged (if possible)
and you would end up with an outline that contains the changes both from
the Palm and the desktop.
