Styles aren't applied on initial document opening

I love my OO, but it's not showing styles on the levels when I initially
open a document.  I have to move my cursor to the row before, say, my
bold Tahoma 14 shows up as bold Tahoma 14.

Known bummer?  Any developers want samples and/or screenshots?
