Applescript - Get selected row?

OK, I have checked the scripting dictionary, looked thru the list archives
month by month, and searched using every term I could think of and haven't
found the answer to what I assumed would be a simple question:  How do I
access the currently selected outline row via script?

What I want to be able to do is insert text relative to the
currently-selected row.
