- Enhancements
- Added "Expand All" and "Collapse All" toolbar items.
- Exporting and printing notes
- Notes are exported to RTF and HTML for both single and
multi-column outlines, and to Plain Text (fixed width). The
notes for a row are put right after the row. They start in
the outline column and go to the edge of the page, and are
indented an extra level to separate them from the regular
text of a row.
- Notes are printed inline after the row, just like the
exported versions. The note text starts in the outline
column (indented an extra level), and goes to the edge of the
page.
- Notes are now always exported, except for the tabbed and MORE
3.1 Plain Text types. (We have requests to make this
optional.) There is a preference for printing to include the
notes.
- The note column, which indicates rows that have a note
attached to them while you are editing the outline, is not
included during printing or exporting.
- The HTML that we generate should now be much better. I have used
the HTML Validator at <http://validator.w3.org/> and fixed all of
the problems that it reported.
- We now use CSS to indent the outline column and notes in the
multi-column HTML export.
- Printing
- Replaced triangle bitmap images with PDFs so that they look
better when printed. Also use PDFs for checkboxes instead of
bitmaps.
- Pop-up list items don't draw the up/down arrow triangles on
the right when printed.
- Images (for the handles and checkboxes) get scaled properly
during printing now.
- Added Printing Preferences
- Print notes
- Print background
- Print header/footer
- Scale width of multi-column outlines to fit on page
- Draw document title in upper left corner.
- Scaled printing should work better now. Previously the width
was automatically scaled to fit, and then that was scaled, so
scaling to 50% would make very small text that didn't span
the full width of the page. The header also gets placed
properly on the page.
Unfortunately the headers/footers get scaled as well.
They should be independant of the document scaling.
- For single column outlines (the note column doesn't count
in this case), the column always fills the entire width
of the page, regardless of the width on the screen or the
scaling. The text is scaled.
- For multi-column outlines the new preference gives you
two options:
- By default the outline is scaled down so that all of
the columns will fit across the page. This scaling
overrides the scaling specified in the page setup
panel.
- Don't scale. If the total width is wider than the
page, it gets printed across multiple pages.
- AppleScript
- There are now two ways to access cell values: "text" and
"value". For example, for a work hour duration column,
"text" might return the string"1d 7h", whereas "value" would
return the number "15" (the underlying value, 15 hours).
- Bug Fixes
- Fixed drawing bug when double-clicking on the text of an item.
- Exporting to RTF preserves the head indent, first line head
indent of paragraphs after the first paragraph of an item. (The
values of the first paragraph were used before.)
- Printing of the background color was inconsistent -- the
background color was printed, but the alternate row color wasn't,
an only the first pixel high row of the column colors was printed.
- Bug #4209 - properly save formatting of duration columns (hours
per week, hours per month).
- Fixed logic of buttons on confirmation sheet when you try to
delete an expired license. Also changed titles of buttons from
"Yes"/"No" to "Delete" and "Cancel".
- Don't reset the text selection when you use cmd-' to switch to
the note area. If you haven't selected text in it the text
insertion point is still put at the end, and if it isn't visible
(as in a long note), it will scroll to visible as soon as you
start typing.
- Known Issues
- We need icons for the "Expand All" and "Collapse All" toolbar
items, and for the Printing preference panel.
