A few more ideas and questions

Hi,
I've just discovered the very nice cooperation between OmniGraffle and
OmniOutliner and it has prompted the following thoughts on features I'ld
like for OmniOutliner (keeping in mind that I totally agree with your
philosophy of keeping OmniOutliner a simple and focused application that
plays well with others)...
- a URL column type, so a single click on those column items will open the
URL.
- attach an AppleScript to an item
- apparently OmniGraffle only imports OmniOutline1 files so far. When it
correctly imports OmniOutliner2 how will it habdle multiple columns etc?
- it could be an idea for OmniGraffle to provide basic import functionality
but to provide AppleScripts for more advanced imports, e.g. for ToDo's with
priority columns I would want to use the priority to change the color or
maybe add little shape for each column attached to an item.
- This might be too messy, what about simple roundtripping. If I import an
outline in OmniGraffle and change text without changing topology can I
export back to OmniGraffle?
- a simple alternative approach to this might be for OmniOutliner to import
.graffle files (assuming the .graffle file is hierarchical)
- And a related question for Outliner3.0 - wouldn't it be easier if the
file format for OmniOutliner were in XML similar to OmniGraffle. It would
allow XSLT stylesheet transformations etc.
- and finally, a biggie. I'ld be really realy happy if I could link
outliner items to each other (again, you can see I'm coming from the
hypermedia/Web/XML world :)
Thanks for listening,
Michael
