First off - OO 2 is really, very nice.
For the most part I do not need to use my project management
applescripts anymore.

So, I'm coming from the point of view of wanting to use an outliner for
managing projects. I'm needing to complete a project in the next week and a
half, so I tried setting up an outline this morning. For the most part it
worked really well, here are the issues I'm having:
-- Number Columns
The number column type works wonders when using calculated summaries.
Although I'd like to be able to see summaries of checked items & of
unchecked items.
Right now I'm using 2 number columns (estimated time & completed), and when
a task is completed I manually transfer the time estimate number to the
completed column. This way I have a tally in each parent node of time
required and the time spent & have an idea of how far along we are.
Perhaps being able to assign a 'action' to the checkbox (like copy value
from Column 2) would be useful in other contexts?
Being able to define a column with a spreadsheet-like calculation would be
very cool as well.
-- Summaries
It would be useful is summaries could also flow from the parents to the
children (backwards from the behavior now). This way I could assign a task
to 'JS' and have all the child nodes get that value as well.
I'm a bit confused as to the value of hidden summaries...
-- Pop-up Lists
I'm seeing a lot of odd behavior. Lists grabbing values from other columns
if there is not a value defined (right now only on my top node) and if you
define a column as a pop-up list without any values in the column, you can
not add new values to the list definition.
That's about it, the beta looks great (and those alternating row colors are
brilliant :) )
James.
