Insert date in Outline

Just to clarify, the script was mine. The AppleScript menu that I use to
call it (which doesn't require the Finder, btw) is Apple's.
The great thing about this combination is that I get the feature in every
application, not just Outliner. (I could call it in Graffle and BBEdit and
Word v.X and so on ... apps that have their own date insertion, or not.)
If you haven't tried the AppleScript script menu (available for download
at Apple's AppleScript Web site), please do. It's a great addition to OS X,
and it does come with some useful scripts. (You can add a date one like
my by using Script Editor.app to save what I posted in my last message.)
AppleScript Script Menu is much like OSA Menu for Mac OS 9, if you're
familiar with that ... and OSA Menu had a way to assign keyboard shortcuts
for scripts. Not sure if that's true with this OS X version.
For my part, I use it to access scripts throughout all of my OS X
applications. (It's yet one more reason why I dislike using Classic apps,
because I lose access to this menu.)
Still, you are right, it would be nice to have a way for OO to insert the
date. But for my money, I'd rather have a system-wide way to do that, like
I had with SpellCatcher's glossary.
