Jeremy, you're  right about the date-2-clipboard script. I made one of 
these (didn't know Apple had one). But I'm still in favour of an 
internal date routine for OO.

For one thing, the date-2-clip script depends on calling a script in 
another environment (the Finder) for a minor procedure in OO -- and it 
usually requires a mouse click, which means taking my hands off the 
keyboard! For another, a script will never handle dates in OO as quickly 
or flexibly as the program itself: the Finder only knows about today's 
date and not much else....
